In need of inspiration and motivation

Ladies, I used to be a motivated student but since college, I'm fallen into the dump. I feel so hopeless! How are you ladies holding up/ how DID you hold up? I can't wait to get out of here but my grades are NOT going to get me into Nursing school here. I think I'm gonna be a 6th year senior? =(. Please tell me what I should do.

Either find a way to focus more on school. If you're working, cut back on hours to make your schedule less hectic. Find ways to reward yourself for good grades. =T

I know how you feel. Those pre-nursing reqs. are hard! Have you thought about what you really want out of your college career besides a major? I finally got out of your same rut when I realized I want to do better than I have been because I knew that I could. I felt like I was basically limiting myself and my capabilities and that was very naive of me.

Good luck!

Are you still taking Prerequisites for Nursing? Or are you already in the Nursing Program?

I was a 5th year senior - it took me a while to find a major that I knew I'd like, instead of picking a major to make my parents happy (pre-med/physical therapy and political science)...when I was able to take classes I liked, it made the schoolwork easier. Still a pain to write up papers and analyze stuff, but at least it was on something that I enjoyed on some level.

Low motivation is like a plague! I swear.. so many people have it, including me. I think if you don't feel motivated about something, it means you don't really like it... but still, if you think about the future, maybe you can go through with this. I was super unmotivated with doing computer science in college, because I didn't love the subject, but thinking about how I want my future to pan out really helped.

Like, what do you expect to get out of Nursing school? What kind of life do you want ultimately? I knew I just want to make a lot of money then move on to do whatever I love. So maybe that'll help!

Hey Diane.
I'm a nursing major too.. but I'm only in my first semester of college.. and I'm not motivated either =( My grades are crap atm but I'm taking up all the extra credits I can to boost them up.
oh hmm.. maybe a motivation might be if you do really well, you'll get out of school earlier, have a job you're going to love, and never have to worry about school again? lol unless you're planning on becoming a nurse Practitioner.
Or try like.. if you get an A, go out and reward yourself?

hehe not much of a help huh?

Good luck!!

Don't worry Mercile is NOT going to kill you, although she will make you feel terribly horrible as if you committed a crime which is almost as bad.

I hate styes!!! Mine is still kinda there after a couple months now!

We should go to MAC together one of these days!!! It'd be sooo fun! =)

It took me five years to complete my major. My grades were so horrific in the first year that I almost got kicked out. I ended switching from majors. I spent my 2nd and 3rd year pulling my grades back up. And I watched all my friends graduate before I could. I'm not a school person, but I knew that I had to get a degree one way or another cause it's only gonna get tougher out there if I decided to drop out. Trust me when I say that you're the only thing that's standing between you and that degree :) I really believe that you have it in you to complete your studies.
